Wyatts here- Dog Rescue /Adoption

.............and hes really scared! He is hiding by the front door and won't come in. We just finished chasing him around the back yard to get him inside! This one will be challenging. Any advise for the terrified dog. A quick history, he has been in a small kennel for the last 2 monthes, they haven't taken him out for a walk once yet. He came in with his Dad who later was picked up by the owner, and he was left behind. Any help would be appreciated!

As I've posted ad nausium, Wu was like that - I let her be, in an X-pen for several weeks, just feeding/watering and constantly talking to her in a calm voice...no corrections, no trying to touch, nothing but a gentle voice and general maintenance (picking up poo off sod roll and rinsing it) ... Gain his trust first

Soft voice, no eye contact, sit down low (on floor,) soft body posture.

Yes, soft voices and calmness. Keep the contact frequent and speaking to let him know that it's ok and so are humans.
Give it a couple of days for the newness of your home to set in too.
Poor thing... he'll be good. This is how I would start though.

Poor baby. I can see why he is frightened. Hopefully it will just take a little time to gain his trust.

maybe set up a crate for him but leave the front open so he can go in and out as he chooses but feed and treat him out of it...talk to him as much as possible and take it slow
