The Clumsiest Dog in the World

Quote:
In 2001, Tesco Pet Insurance conducted a study to determine what breed of dog was most prone to accidents around the home. The winner was the Chocolate Labrador Retriever.
However, a more recent study this year shows that the Rottweiler has bumped into first place. Also receiving honorable mentions are Bull Terriers, Springer Spaniels and German Shepherds.

We'd just like to know: where was the cat when all of this was taking place?

Labs, the do rks of the canine world. I can vouch for the fact that they are clumsy. Well, the boys are. Not Greta, she is too danty to be considered clumsy.

So Dax-- does Ariel show there is any truth to this?

Ya its usually the younger dogs. They think there still small and can maneuver around things but the truth is they cant. And *boom* straight into the table

Lol!I must admit that my rotti Sarah, was the clumsiest dog around.Like Dax said here, she goes "through" not "around".She used to bruise her shoulders all the time, from banging into the doorway on her way in or out.And unless you wanted to risk riding down the stairs on the back of a dog,we ALWAYS let Sarah go down the stairs first. And have i mentioned the training ot took, for Sarah to not rely her whole support on u,by leaning against you while u went for a walk?!!!

yeah, my rottie mix is definately clumsy!!! Koda fell into our pool when he was a pup and that was just the start! I kept him out of the litter, even though the female pups were gorgeous, because I felt if I didn't keep him he might not make it.

Let's see,.... the worst, scariest, most expensive thing he's ever done. We had some sheet metal (the roofing for our horse stalls) leaning up against the back wall, it was enclosed but I forgot to lock the gate one night! The next morning when I went out to feed the horses, I noticed blood drops all over the patio!!!! Then I see Koda and I'm not kidding his whole neck was soaked in blood, some of was already dried. The first thing I thought was that he had gotten in a fight with my female dog (his mom) even though they had NEVER before. I looked at her and she was fine.

There was so much dry and new blood that I couldn't see anything so I had to rinse him off. I still shudder thinking about how much came off. As soon as I did this I noticed a cut on his ear about an inch long. Well I kept looking and can you believe that was the ONLY cut!!!!!!

I tried wrapping it to stop the blood, but he kept shaking and it kept falling off. So my mom and I rushed him to the vet, I sat in the back holding a towel to his ear while she drove. The vet made me stay in the car with him until they got a room ready, so he wouldn't get blood everywhere! Apparently he had cut an artery! He had to have his whole head wrapped in a cast with one of those no scratch collars on!

After we got home, I traced the blood trail and that's when I figured he cut it on the sheet metal. There was blood smeared on the wall, on the metal, blood drops everywhere, I thought for sure he would need a transfusion, but he didn't.

Appylvr - that quite the story for first thing in the am. I can't decide whether to laugh because of the mental pictures you have painted so well or breath a sigh of relief. When I do both it sounds like a whinney.

It sounds like he was a little accident prone - but seriously aren't they all?

I know it was quite a morning! While all that was going on the horses were at the fence, neighing for their food! My other two dogs kept getting in the way until finally I had to lock them up AND on top of it all I'm NOT a morning person!!! My uncle was staying with us and he kept arguing about taking him to the vet cause it was such a little cut!!! I was so glad he was ok, though!
