Update on Oso

Well, we tried the new vet yesterday and both my husband and I were quite pleased. Oso went plodding through the door like a bandaged up mummy head with four feet. The bandages came off and the new vet said it looked pretty good. There was still a bit of hematoma left but nothing compared to what it was in the beginning. Of course I had ALL of Oso's records with me. He went over all of them with a fine tooth comb and actually took time with us. The so called "lump" that was discovered last month when we took him in for his teeth cleaning......put it this way, there wasn't a lump at all present. The vet told us that this "lump" was his annal glands. I showed him where the lipoma was and he agreed with you Deb..that all lipoma's should come off.....meanwhile our other vet told us to leave it alone unless it got any bigger. He also disagreed about the drugs they had given him under general anesthetic last month when we had his teeth clean. He told us because of this breeds low metabolism and low heart rate that a certain drug should not be given....and here I was telling the vet that put him under the same thing. There was quite a difference in view points from our other vet which we found very alarming. Also, starting in February he will be opened 6 days/nights a week instead of 5. Oso is doing GREAT! Bandages are completely gone and he said after today we can give him a bath...Thank God!......Looks like we will be changing vets in the near future.

WOW I just love vets like your new one ... they're getting to be as rare as hen's teeth.

I tell people, vets are like breeders...interview, interview, interview.

I know you must be so happy you found a good vet you can trust. It is very hard to do these days, I know. We have a great fortunately and I can tell you it makes life so much easier! I am glad Oso is getting better and your pups will be getting the best care.

Sounds like you found a great vet. I know because the low metabolism and everything I was PARANOID about finding a good vet and I quized each one before finding my vet. Glad that Oso is getting better!!

Sorry guys, no new pics today...it's cold raining and nasty out and there is no way I can get this boy in the tub by myself. Plus I would be defeating the purpose of the bath since I know he would run outside and go for the mud. ....but he sure is happy that the bandages are off.
