Skye has...
Diarrhea. He is acting perfectly fine and is his happy self. The only thing I'm worried about is he has a little bit of blood in it. He has never had this before.
What does this mean? I am calling the vet asap in the morning. But any ideas? Its not alot of it but a little bit along with the poo. I am really bummed cause this means no class tommorow.... ![]() Oh well I care more about his health and the other dogs health. |

He may have eaten something (bark, rock, etc.) that scratched his intestine, also could be a symptom of worms.
Take a deep breath . Scary yes, but he's not being lethargic, etc. Just might be a bit of upset that also has irritated the lining of his gut.Of course we're all going to worry until updates are posted but it sounds good to tell *you* not to worry. |

First off...bclover,,,don't use the words "bummed" and "diarrhea" in the same sentence..........lol!!! I'm kidding with you!!!
I'd watch his toileting schedule and if there is an increase in the blood volume I would take him to the vet.... It may be that he ate something he shouldn't have or he got over excited about something and had a colitis episode,,,,,I know you're worried....keep a chart of the stools and if you see a trend of more blood call your vet, |

Yeah I have been looking and everything says a little blood can be normal but if it gets to be alot or they show other signs then they may be worse.
Thanks guys, I am still gonna call the vet but I am not so nervous now. He tends to eat things and get diarreha about once a month but never had some blood. And hes always better in a day or two. |

Just keep a record of how much and how often...your vet can give you an idea of diagnosis from those 2 things....keep smiling, bclover....he's gonna be alright!!

BClover, when Bella came, she had the same thing. I figure it was cause I fed her a hard treat, and she woofed it down, without chewing... It's scared as heck, but usualy not anything too bad if it's just a little blood...
Keep us updated, and call the vet, just to ease YOUR mind. |

If he tends to get diarreha monthly I'd bet dollars to donuts that he suffers from colitis
. Poor bub, no fun.If you suspect colitis there is an excellent product you can get called Prokolin Protexin - as well as containing kaolin which helps the immediate diarrhoe problem it also contains probiotics to improve bowel flora (friendly bacteria.) You can also use BCK granules - they contain Bismuth Charcoal and Kaolin - the charcoal is a natural toxin remover. With chronic intermittent diarrhoeas it is always advisable to do several bacteriological checks because Salmonella is know to hide away and cause intermittent problems. Also, check your food for sugar beets - they're indigestable and can cause loose stool. |
