Worming Medication
Sorry for the influx of threads today
![]() I just remembered that tomorrow is when I should administer Honda's second worming. I have the pre-measured medication, but my question is: is it safe to administer it after the medication has been exposed to different temperatures? I was never told to refrigerate it, so I didn't. It has been left in my purse (accident more than design) and therefore has been in very cold (25 degrees lowest I would say) to indoors temps (our thermostat is at 70 degrees) so the medication has not been kept at a consistent temperature. I kept remembering that I should take it out, but needless to say, in the last week forgot. So the time has come to administer it tomorrow and I don't know if I should, or try and get new medicine... |

Call your Vet that gave it to you and ask. I don't have to referigerate Nemex which is what I use.

Okay, however it is not my vet, it is from when the breeder brought the pups. I suppose I can call, but they don't have a formal vet record or anything for her. Hmm, doesn't hurt though. The wormer is Strongid T.

Call the vet and tell them the name and situation- they should be able to tell you. I would think it would be alright, but a phone call is worth all the worry in the world. ( now- where are more pictures??? lol )

Alright, I'll give them a ring tomorrow. Thanks everyone, I know some medications are uber sensitive and some none at all.
Well I planned to take her out to a park and get some action shots, but I was a bad mommy and fell asleep on the bed with her instead lol. I'll add some action shots to the picture thread tomorrow. I just fall more in love with her each minute. She really is like my child! I mean, how can someone not love this face :]

Strongid T doesn't need to be in the fridge and can be given every 2 weeks its the safest of all wormers I do believe. The bad part is that you can under dose it or pup spit some out and it doesn't work as well.
