Ellie I need your help (and everyone else)
Hey, Maybe you can help me. I nkow I said I was going to get the parents to get Tink spayed.. but they are procratinators. And I think she is about to go in heat again. Her vulva is swelling. I took a picture..
Does it look that way to you? I have a couple of questions.. 1. How long do they normally bleed for? 2. After the bleeding is when they start to stand, Right? 3. How long until it is over.. I have got a crate for her to stay in. She will be kept in MY room, during the dat, (upstairs) while the others are downstairs and Chance is outside. She will go outside on the leash ONLY.. (being supervised) and at night she will sleep in her crate while bleeding and while in heat maybe on the couch with the door closed. Has anyone ever used those little pannie things for dogs? Do they work. Thanks, Erin

Definately in heat. normally they bleed for about 12 days, but it can vary.
Yes she most definately can become pregnant, by the looks of your pic, she is just about there.

She hasnt started bleeding yet... Waiting for that to come. Will she stand while bleeding?

not normally, are you sure she hasn't bled already without you noticing.
I would be wary of this cycle. Have you checked to see if she is standing yet?

Nope but I havent found any blood. Around the house or anything. How can I check to see if she will stand? I actually know she hasnt started bleeding yet. I would have noticed it in the carpets or on the floor.

To see if she is standing yet, make her stand up, then with your fingers gently tickle scratch the area just above her tail, if she is ready she will go into the same position as in my pic on the thread in breeding/heat cycle.

Nope she isnt standing. She hasnt started bleeding yet either.

Okies, well, just wait for the bleeding, but you can check for the standing at anytime, just to be sure.
