Angry My nine week old black lab has dandruff !!

Hi,

We just got a seven week old lab. She is learning not to pee herself, but has had several accidents some in teh crate where it got all over her. We have LIGHTLY shampood her with Johnsons Baby Shampoo once. We have however, whet her down a few time to rinse of her hind legs.

She is starting to show light signs of dandruff.

What am I to do ??

Thanks

Michael

Don't use the baby shampoo but pick up some puppy shampoo. I would try not to wash very often. They make PUPPY WIPES that you can use to clean up life's little messes. Make sure whenever you wash to rinse very well.

Not sure where you live, but dry skin/dandruff is common in the winter and black dogs show it well. Bathing will agravate it. There are supplements that you can feed to help keep the coat mosturized. Lambert Kay's linatone, or any other omega oil supplement.

Puppy wipes work nice. I use regular non alcoholic baby wipes. They seem to work well. Have fun with your puppy!

Also, if the skin gets really dry, you can add a little egg and oil to your dogs food. Works wonders with making the coat nice and shinny. Especially on a black lab
