Magic is back with me afterall

This is so strange..
Magic was brought back to the shelter with claims of allergies for the Mom and one of the kids.
While this was happening, our rescue director finally realizes she knows the dog and adopted family and it was their dog to begin with!!! She had been trying to get them to give him up for nearly 2 years since he was a pup because they were so neglectful!
The lady told me her daughter used savings to pay to adopt him (before I knew they were the original family)
So, the shelter turned him over to me and our rescue so I can truly get him back to health and mannered and have a real 2nd chance! He will never see that neighborhood again.
He's not neutered, has shots though but did contract kennel cough at the shelter which he's about over now.
He will have a chance now!

Doesn't the rescue screen people?? if so how did he end up with his origional family again wouldn't the rescue have there name and such so they could never adopt a dog?

Please don't confuse the shelter and rescues.
He went through the shelter who did not know and had no way of knowing that they originally owned him.
I did not know either until I found out they were giving him back to the shelter. That's when our director finally put 2+2 together.
I'm the one that turned him in so we wouldn't be in trouble for stealing someones neglected dog with the intention of getting him after his 5 day stay to nurse him back to health and give him a 2nd chance! They adopted him first but kept in contact with me as I requested the shelter give them my info if they would contact me. I wanted to keep tabs on him to make sure he got what he needed..
Does that make more sense to you? There's another thread here on him when I took him.

They didn't turn him over to me, the shelter did. I guess I didn't make much sense.

I take dog at large.
I turn dog over to the shelter (so I'm not in trouble for stealing dog)
Intention was to get him from shelter after 5 day hold
Lady comes along and says she's been feeding the stray and wants him.
Lady adopts him from shelter.
Lady was given my phone number at my request so I can keep tabs on him.
Lady calls me Sunday saying he was gone, jumped her fence.
Lady calls, dog was back home.
Lady calls me and tells me her and one child are breaking out in welts from dog so they're allergic to him.
I said take him back to the shelter.
She did.
I told the director I wanted to get him out and take care of him.
Director finally puts all the info together and realizes she knows adoptive family and that he was their dog to begin with but hasn't seen him for a year or so now.
She says, absolutely, get him into our rescue and under your care.
I do.
Now he's with me.

Our rescue screens very well. Shelters only have the info provided them. The shelter is now aware that they are the reason he looks like he does and will not adopt to them again.

Does this clarify the confusion I caused now? It was terribly confusing and I'm doing a really great job not calling the woman and chewing a piece of her lying horrible hide since I do have her phone number. I have a phone number and first name, no address, no last name.
She's very lucky and it's good I don't know her address or I'd be tempted to bring him by once he's looking great and telling her off as to why they should never, ever consider owning a dog again! If they can't keep him looking like I will with a house full, they need not bother!

LOL Hon no worries I understood the situation, and remember his story, I'm just glad he's with you. I shouldn't have used back - just refering to when he was suppose to come to you in the first place.

Oh, I know. It was mostly for kowwgurl or anyone else that's new, doesn't know the history, doesn't know me and didn't read it very well. Mostly doesn't know me. Some people work/help shelters some rescues. Some people don't know the difference.
She was very erroneously accusing our rescue of the screening process and I was just clarifying was all.

Well i thought that when this lady clamed to be feeding him and wanted to adopt him. I just had a feeling that it was his old owner. And the shelter should do a little back ground check on the people. Glad that you have him back now.

WOW!!

So they get welts.......I get hives from my dogs simple solution is to bathe the dog, well at least it helps me but needs to be done every 2 weeks. I would never give up a dog for that but I'm glad they did since they seem to be really bad owners.
