Another rescue comes in

Little Golden Boy is at the SPCA shelter. He's going to come home with me tomorrow. I had to formally adopt him from them because they don't work with rescue. We've got a wonderful home for him and he's a great little fellow. I'll get pictures of him tomorrow after I pick him up.

Shelters can sometimes be such a pill - they IMHO should have a list of all rescuers and not charge. I've had to pay too often to pull a dog out of the Santa Cruz shelter, not that I wouldn't have done it due to the fee but good lord you'd think they'd realize that rescuers are taking some of the burden off them.

Kudos on your new bub, can't wait to see new piccys (sorry about the rant - just one of those days for me today )

I haven't but our rescue has picked up a couple that way before I came along. Now that I'm the outreach person for our rescue, I handle all dealings with the humane society here. They've begun a movement to be proactive with the community rescues and resources realizing it's not a humane society problem, it's a universal problem! We just pulled a lab and 10 month old wonderful male pit bull out of there. The last one I pulled was Magic who's doing fabulous! He may be ready to go up for adoption in a couple of more weeks!!! His fur is looking great and his bald spots are nearly gone! Need to get some more weight on him but he's up to 4 cups twice a day and he's actually eating it now!

All you rescuers are just great. I really wish DH would let me foster, but sadly, big fat no time after time. I hope you all know thankful we all are for you and all your hard work. Keep it up!!!

GREAT job and keep it up! You're really helping those poor abandoned Shelties and I'm so proud of you. Thanks for the job you do!
