Merlin

I am happy to report Merlin is back to his old self with one draw back he is now refusing to eat he was eating kibble mixed with wet food yesterday because he wouldn't eat dry kibble now he won't even eat the wet food I can't let him go hungry untill he decides to eat in fear that he will re lapse into a hypoglycemic episode I was thinking of cooking him hamburger and rice but I still want him to eventually eat his kibble and not get too spoiled (which he already is) any ideas of how to get the little ****** to eat his food?

Poor some flax seed oil on a small amount of kibble - see if that will start him eating, if not try another small amount with olive oil, if that doesn't work get some tinned (hate using tin) salmon and pour a bit of oil over another small bit. The oil will be good for him and it might get him to take the kibble.

taste and smell - especially the fish oil. I don't let mine go off eating, though I do take it up if they don't eat straight away. I've found this trick works when they seem to balk for a day. You can't do that with Merlin of course (let him go a day) so this may just do the trick.

If that doesn't work you can make up the Satin Balls so he's not going without but his food is not being changed. Just give him enough of the SBs to keep his sugar up but not enough to let him go picky. Don't make up a full amount of course, because he's so little. Probably 1/4 of the recipe.

Also Flax Seed Meal (golden) may get him to go for the kibble. Mine love it - it's really good tasting and good for them.

Make sure you have some Nutracal or something similar handy-they will usually eat that when all else fails-it helps to keep their sugar up. Bianca (maltese)had a couple of close calls when she was tiny (well, she still is tiny, but she's grown) and the Nutracal was really helpful.

If you cook him some rice and mix it in with his food. Try that to see if that might work.
