Promeris???

Well, uh, I ran out of Frontline . My mother says she thinks it has stopped working, well no duh he got it first week of Feb and its March, and he was getting icky again so I had to give him a bath!
Now, he goes back to the vet next week for his boosters so we can send in for his new license, but because my mother wont back off about the FL not working I thought I'd look into this "new Promeris"..... Any one know anything about it, good/bad?
I've always used Frontline when I needed it with great results but one of the biggest problems I've had with those other products is that there NOT waterproof (and lets face it, if you can buy it at Wal-mart, YOU DON'T WANT IT !). It rains so much here, and then theres the "poo rolling parties" that get a good hosing off, so I need waterproof. Well, Promeris says its waterproof, so I was thinking of maybe just trying a tube or two but thought, maybe I should ask first.
Anyone know some one who's used it with good results?

I don't know anything about Promeris as we can't get that here in the UK but I have heard stories of FL not working as good as it did. Something to do with the fleas becoming resistant?

I need waterproof too! I hope you can find a product that works.

When you think about, in the long run doesn't every thing that can't be gotten rid of, just gets use to it? You should see the Voles out here, they live on Decon (time for some snap-traps).

Fleas are not a big concern here I have never treated my dogs for fleas or ticks but I did use advantage multi when my one puppy had demodidic mange and it worked but you don't like that company then I just used revolution on Merlin he came to me with tons of dandruff so we treated him for walking dandruff just to be on the safe side and it seemed to work and i know revolution is waterproof you just can't let them get wet for the first 12 hrs after application you have to let it absorb.

Because we take the dogs almost every where with us we use K9Advantix Plus - we live in a high mosquito area. I'm not willing to take chances. I've been very happy with the results.

Also, have you added the whole yogurt or probiotics?

Actually, revolution is one of the other ones that I have though about. I think I am going to try some Promeris first though, I'm still liking what I'm hearing about it.

LOL me=easily sidetracked. Mentioning for Kow's Merlin.

I love yogurt (not for fleas/ticks/mosquitos...let them get their own ) especially the sauce that's greek made with yogurt & cucumber. OMS that's so yummy.

I wondered why you said that ! It sounded pretty silly in a F/T thread. Funny though, ever since I've been giving Jinjo yogurt, that red ick that builds on ether side of his mouth has disappeared! His breath still stinks though from his bad stomach .

OK, so we where back at the vets Tuesday to update shots and they currently don't sell Promeris yet. They didn't even start selling Frontline plus till last year, tells you how behind they are. Anyway, because of being out of it we bought more frontline there. Aprox $75 for 6 tubes plus a seventh free, not to bad compared to Drs. foster&Smith which it aprox $72 for 6 tubes plus 3.99 shipping (we pay big time in gas if we were to drive to the vet every time we needed just the F/T meds).
