Question

My dog always barks at rocks and she ends up digging holes everywhere. Her barking is also getting annoying. How can i teach her not to bark at rocks?

It sounds as though your dog is just bored. Does he have any toys to play with and room to run around? You can train him to be quiet when you tell him to. It takes time and consistency though.

Maybe that's just her toy of choice. One of my dogs favourite toys is his water bowl. He will stand and bark at it, push it around, and hold it in his mouth for hours. That's just what he enjoys.

I agree with Dawn, but if the barking is really annoying you, then an easy ''stop the barking'' method can help you out a lot. After drinking a pepsi out of a can, wash it out. put a few pennies in it it and tape over the hole on the top so that the pennies can't fall out. When she starts barking like mad, say ''no bark'' or ''be quiet'' or whatever phrase you want to use. Immediately after saying the phrase, shake the can. It'll make a racket, and quiet your dog. After doing this a couple of times, she will soon relate your phrase to the scary sound. When this info ''clicks'' in her mind, you won't have to use the can but just say the phrase. I have used this method with all my poodles and it works wonders.
