That should be enough to convince anyone not to bring more puppies and kittens into the world.

Sadly though; every breeder, no matter how many times they see something like this are absolutely convinced that this couldn't possibly happen to one of their puppies. If they faced up to their part in the tragedy, no matter how small; the thought would be too painful to live with.

Fact is, as responsible pet owners, we NEED to be out there educating. Don't wait until it is too late.

Whenever I go anywhere if someone has training questions for me, after I've given them advice, I always ask.. "Oh, by the way, is your pet spayed or neutered?" and from there on out educate them in a kind way and let them know about how bad the problem truly is.

When the weather makes it possible, I will be standing outfront of local pet stores handing out fliers on why to rescue and not go to BYBs, puppy mills, and pet stores.

When I see fliers for puppies for sale in feed stores, groceries stores, etc.. I hang up fliers on responsible breeding.

We all need to be out there making a difference. That isn't to say go around shoving it down peoples throats, but we should be out there explaining and educating in a way that will grab people's attention and motivate them to make the right decision.

Oh my I'm all wet eyed now. I think every single person who wants to breed should watch this video.
Every single one. For every pup born, one of these will die so someone has a cute baby puppy for about a month.
It almost makes me not want to take any more of the puppies into rescue and only get the adults and teenagers!

Took me about an hour to be able to watch it with this darn dialup.. It was very sad.

I would love to post this as a sticky in Breeding Help Section. If any breeder wonders why we are SO hard on them - this is the reason.

Breeders get the miracle of life and the shelter workers get known as Dr. Death.

OMG that hurts so much to watch, watching my own go to their last is nothing like this. Even being a responsible breeder, with all the care I put into a litter this does give me pause. As heart wrenching to watch it all the way through I think it should be manditory for *anyone* who thinks about breeding. Should be part of vet care.

I would love if you could post it there as well. Unfortunately, I don't think it would be viewed before making the decision as most seem to end up there already with pups on the way. Could possibly prevent a next litter though.

They always take such offense when someone isn't on their happy bandwagon too I've noticed.

Maybe they should have to watch this video and then hang out in the rescue section for a spell before being able to access the breeding sections?

Oh, I can dream!

That was very heartbreaking to watch. I am bawling my eyes out.

This is the reason why I will always adopt my animals from the shelter. Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die. Prevent a litter, spay or neuter your critter. It's as simple as that.

Must go give my dog a hug now...
