Dumb spay question

I know I should know this. And I most likly do.But with this huge cocktail of meds my doctors and therapists have me on currently I am drawing a huge blank.

Sheena is scheduled to be spayed on the first of April(no jokes please). What is the usual recovry time For a very healthy, very little fat, had one litter, and is 4yrs old and is about 65 pouds dog? I need to know because this was the soonest I could get her in and I have a ton of appointments coming up that if she can be recovered enough for then I would like to bring her for. If not then I plan to spend the next two weeks working Ajax to over time(all the meetings are with mental health people who know about and suport both my efforts with both dogs) to see if I can get him ready enough to go to those appointments while she is still recovering,
So any advice?
Nicole

Average recovery, in my experience...and of course it will vary, is about a week to 10 day.

Yes, daux is right from my own experience as well. The first 5 days always seem to be the most crucial especially for females. If she's fine after 5 days, I think she'll be ok. They just shouldn't rough house or jump and be crazy active which I don't believe Sheena is anyway. Best of wishes and that's my Mom's birthday too.

Thanks all. My first appointment after her spay is Monday the 7th. My concern is that is too early to expect her to go back to work. It is only for an hour long meeting and most of it she would be laying under my chair. But then the next day there is a 2 hour long meeting. And I am thinking that might be pushing it a bit. DO you think she might be ready for then or do you think I should continue with Ajax and up his training so he can come instead? Both therapists are aware of the situation and are fine with either of them.

Holly is a sensitive major baby. She was really miserable for the first 4-5 days, but was pretty much 100% after week. She could do whatever she wanted within 2 weeks, mind you she's tiny and her incision was an inch long, small enough to need only glue and no stitches, so the physical healing of the site was really easy.

What prompted you to have her spayed Nicole. I thought you may have been interested in one more Sheena litter.

By the time of two weeks, Sheena should be recovered enough to carry on her service dog work.

Fairlight - long personal story but mainly has to do with my 3 suicide attempts in the past several weeks. I need Sheena 100% of the time now and if she is injured or six then I need Ajax as well which is why we are stepping up his training.

Would I like another litter from her. Yup. I was hoping to get a female from her. But my health and life right now is at stake and I need her working at her best. And her going into heat cycles is not her at her best. It was a hard decision and one that my doctors and therapists had to make for me because I couldn't. With the many meds I am on I can't think straight as is.

Rain so in 2 weeks she should be able to do her Service Dog work agian. Which would mean untill the 2 weeks is up Ajax will need to step forward as a Service dog in training. He already has the permission so that is not the problem. I just needed to know if that might end up being the case so I could step up his training. Thanks.

Poppy was able to do normal things a week after the surgery - usually our vets say 10 days but she healed nicely so she was back to normal after a week.
