Hello all! I recently bought a 10 week old lab. I've owned other dogs before but I have never been successful at teaching them to sleep in their own beds. (I had no problems teaching them to sleep in their own crates but since "dog beds" don't close the dog can freely "step" out as he/she pleases.) I really want to try and teach my lab to sleep in her own "bed" especially since we transfered to a smaller place and a crate will just take way too much space (and my wife hates it).

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance

I've never trained a dog to sleep in a bed. (We have one outside dog and two that sleep in the bed with us.) We have trained our cat to sleep in a basket though. We just gave him treats in it for a few days. He lays in it all the time now. Before, he would always sleep on the couch and chairs. So there was hair everwhere.
