Helping to Find This Dog a Good Home

I really understand now what everyone here in rescue goes through. I am trying to help my co worker find a good home for this poor dog. The owners did not want him anymore and were going to take him to the pound to be done with him My friend stepped in and said she would take him in until she found him a good home and I am helping her. The nasty woman dropped this baby off at our office today and she kept saying that no one has paid any attention to him for months, they just let him out side to go to the bathroom and he has never been in the car before today... they cut his hair because no one wanted to take him to the groomer and he has never been on a walk with a leash My anger was growing every time she opened her mouth. I know I could not hide my disgust with her. I am hoping my sister will take him, she has a 2 year old Lhasa Apso, this one, they call him Baby, is 3 years old, supposedly pure bread Lhasa, but his face does not look like a Lhasa to me.

I hope he gets a home! He looks more shi-tzu to me. But he does also have a VERY bad hair cut.

It's a chop job and he smells so bad.

Go for you for taking this dog. Just goes to show that people don't THINK before they get a dog.

People make me so angry - a pet is NOT a pair of shoes, purse, etc. Cute when brand new but toss it when the next season's fad comes along.

So you have him, or?
I would suggest 3 things.
1- get him to a groomer
2- put a private add on pet finder look at the top tabs
3- call all the rescues around you to see if any can either take him in or at least do a courtesy post for him. (We do this often for both families trying to rehome the dog and other rescues with possible harder to place dogs)
There's always option 4, the sometimes harder one, send him here. Our admin person takes in those type and she only keeps them if they're blind, deaf and older than dirt! Haha

I know and this dog is so sweet and friendly. I am sure we will not have a hard time finding him a home.

At least he didn't get aggressive with all the time he spent in captivity. Many dogs get too mean to home when they're kept like that poor thing was. His face looks more Shih-Tzu to me, but he's a SWEETIE! I'm glad you're doing all you can. I'm gonna crosspost to another forum.
