chrondrotin with glucosamine- which brand to get off of EBay?

I have been giving my 8 yr old dog glucosamine pills for a few months and he has been doing great with them.

I remember someone saying that they get them cheaper on EBay. Does anyone know the brand?

Edited with another question: Can to much be bad? I am giving Glyco-Flex 3. The vet said it should be fine because he is very stiff and crackly in his front legs.

You're not going to be guaranteed the same quality off ebay - could even end up with years old or partially used bottles; after all they are an auction site.

You can do a search on google/yahoo/msn (they'll all give you basically the same results) on the product name + best price

I don't recommend buying any pet products online, and most DEFINITELY not from Ebay!

Would you take medications/supplements that were purchased online, or at an online auction?

I agree! I have read numerous articles about chondroitan and glucosamine and how the majority of what's out there doesn't have nearly the amount of active ingredients in them as compared to the labels and how people are getting majorly ripped off!

I use ArthriEase-Gold which is a concentrated joint formula. In it are (2 scoops):
Glucosamine HCL 99% (Shellfish Source) 110mg.
Chondroitin 315mg.
Hyaluronic Acid
MSM 334mg.
Enzymes
Probiotics

I always bought human grade when they had it on sale buy one get one free. All you need to know is the dosage from your Vet. The brand I usually got was Nature Made I believe. The dog I had using it was very large so I didn't have to split the pills. I did however start to give him Dasequin tabs before he died and I think he did even better with them.

I, too, would advise against purchasing from e-bay. The manufacturer's guarantee on the product will be void, and lord only knows what you'd be getting from a site like e-bay.

I use Dasuquin for a couple of my old guys and they do FANTASTICALLY on it. I know a number of clients who switched to Dasuquin from Cosequin and are much happier with the newer product. Here's a tidbit about Dasuquin from their website:

Quote:
Dasuquin goes above and beyond the traditional glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate products on the market. Dasuquin contains NMX 1000™ avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU), formulated with FCHG49®* glucosamine and TRH122®* chondroitin sulfate. This sets Dasuquin apart from any other joint health supplement for dogs. And all in a tasty, easy to administer chewable tablet!

Dasuquin is also available in a formula with MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). Your veterinarian can advise you on which formula is best for your dog.

*Dasuquin® contains FCHG49® Glucosamine Hydrochloride, TRH122® Low Molecular Weight Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, and NMX1000™ Avocado/Soybean Unsaponifiables, Nutramax Laboratories® veterinary-exclusive proprietary researched specifications.

Yes, and yes. 99% of all my shopping is done online, prescriptions included. Where the heck else are you supposed to get your supplements if you live hundreds of miles from a decent health food store?

I use Flexicose- an easily absorbable liquid- purchased from Ebay. As long as you are sure to purchase it from an established vendor with excellent rating, and the bottles are sealed and well within their "sell by date" what is the difference? Many reputable shops now sell through Ebay. As long as you are careful it is fine.
