Unhappy No Home Away From Home

Hi my name is Melanie and I just moved to Nashville Tn 3 wks ago from Pa. I brought along my sweet girl Bones. The problem, she is a 9 yr old pitbull. My sister will no longer allow her to live there because they never had a dog and do not want one in the house. My girl loves people lived with another dog and 3 cats for many yrs. She is sweet and very sensitive because she was abused as a pup.I contacted the Nashville Humane Society and they will not take her. they reccommended a women but she will only foster her for a few weeks. She cannot place her because she is too old. They only place 6 yrs or under.I have looked on line in Tn with no luck. I am trying to find an apartment right now because my sister only gave me 1 week to find her a home or we both have to go. PLEASE ANYONE who can give me some information I would be very grateful. My girl deserves to live the rest of her life and not be punished for my mistakes. My e-mail adress is mwaltemyer2@yahoo.com Thanks Melanie

I sympathize totally with your difficulty, but wasn't this discussed prior to your move?
No way would I give up my dog- even if you have to board her while finding an apartment, then do it. I would be looking for a place 24/7 until I found a suitable solution.

I would even move back to PA and rethink the whole move if it meant losing a dog in order to stay.

i agree, giving the dog away would be my last thought. find an apartment, contact local real estate folks who have apartments listed and ask them to help you search.

i wonder why you want to continue living with someone who cares so little about your feelings.

Hope you find a place....it's a shame your dog ended up facing this. Please let us know what happens.
