failed foster?

so as you may or may not know harrison and i have a foster beagle/border collie pup right now she is like 5 months old and we got her from a girl who posted an add on craigslist saying her roommate left this puppy behind and she was being kept in a kennel with another dog that was fighting with her...harrison for whatever reason decided we should take her and find her a good home...the girl was supposed to mail us her vet records and never did and stopped returning emails and since she had two other adult dogs with her when we picked dixie up we are guessing dixie was a remaining pup from an unwanted litter...shock

i of course from the start have wanted her to stay she is such a sweet little baby and has bonded to us and the other dogs like crazy especially gadget since faye dosent play with her and dixie does...but harrison has stood pretty firm that he dosent want three dogs and his parents ((who we rent the house from)) dont want us to have any more pets...pout

well apparently when speaking to his mother yesterday she said that she thought we were keeping her and when he said no i dont think so she said "well you should i dont want some crazy to get her and use her for bait in dog fighting" which of course i would do everything in my power to avoid but still...

so with that and the fact that i want to keep her she might be staying and my first dog foster may be a big fat failure

i was going to wait to say anything so not to jinx it but i just cant

Not a very good track record. Glad that you may be able to keep her though. So much for being simply a foster mom huh? Keep us posted ...

LOL Well looks like your first foster experience is a smashing success - you got her out and you got her a great home right off the bat

lol yeah shes just so sweet and she totally has the beagle eyes which melt my heart...and we always talked about having a third one so gadget had a playmate and since faye is older and has her cancer that way when her time comes which is hopefully later rather then sooner gadget would still have a companion...of course harrison says "that was before the bunnies" lol pffft to that i say

Your not the only one with a failed foster. I think Taz is here to stay. (Cat). He was suppose to be a 3 month stay. But I don't have the heart to bring him back. At first he irritated me with his over needyness for attention. It's like he didn't have a mom so I was a good replacement. Now I can't wait till he headbutts me in the morning. I know somethings wrong when he doesn't. lol. Oh well. At least he'll have the time with me. And I know he'll be treated right.
