How old do you start cliping dog nails

We have a puppy that his nails are getting very sharp I usualy have him in my room since my brother and his family don;t have a place for him to sleep in there room but he crys all night when by him self and its to cold to keep him out side over night. He is geting big now and he is starting to get to where the can clime up on to my bed from the floor. I usualy sleep with my feet over the edge of the bed and i have been getting woke up when he gets down and trys to get back up because he is trying to use my feet as a place to clime. His nails are getting very sharp but it there a age where it they are to young to get there nails cliped? We clip my other dogs nails are self but i don;t want to clip his nails if it would hurt him to be cliped at a young age.

The sooner you get the puppy used to you handling his feet the better. Even just filing the edge down a little is good practice for both of you for later (plus saves on bandaids)

Nail desensitizing from day one. As Dax says, start by handling the toes. Show her the clipper so that she isn't scared of it. When necessary, take the snips.
