I personally like this one...

Exile - you have got to try it. Oscar will love it. I went to a "you bath" and they had one, they let me try. I went out and bought one that very day. It is fantastic. I know Walmart has them.

I LOVE the blade works wonders for shedding the undercoat of my rottie/terrier!! Couldn't do w/out it. You can find some that have deeper teeth on 1 side and shallower teeth on the other. Polly has a thin coat and I use the shallower one on her during her spring/summer sheds!

Exile, the blade you see opens up. With an end in each hand, you rack it (short strokes) along the dogs body. It lifts out the hairs, dirt each. The benefit is the dogs love the feel. Ariel will stand absolutely still for it.

I personally would use a very soft brush at the moment, at 11 weeks your lab is still a very tiny baby, nothing with spikes etc. is necessary at the moment, your lab will not be moulting for quite some time, then you can bring out the big guns.
At the moment, any spikes or hardness can put your lab off grooming experiences for good..start off nice and gentle, get her used to the idea of the whole process. |

Agreed. The last thing you want is an 80 pound "puppy" throwing a tantrum because your trying to groom him.
Dax - Im gonna pick one up at Pet Valu sometime this week if they have it. See how it works. It says it reduces shedding. God knows i need that. Ellie - you being quite experienced with labs, are there certain ages where they tend to shed more? Not seasons but actual age. Last edited by eXile; 03-13-2005 at 09:15 PM. |
