Angry Puppy Bones

Hi again

We were wondering what kind of bones would be appropriate for an 11 week old lab. We have been using the nylabones but she doesnt seem to like them at all.

I was hoping to move her over to something more tasty and larger.

Thanks

M

I know what you mean. All i would give Oscar was nylabones and rawhide roles while under supervision. Nylabones are very boring. They have no taste and are hard to eat. Thats the last thing she wants to do. During that stage, they really arent into that type of thing. What you can do is put a smere of peanut butter or ketchup on the stick. That may get her attracted to it.

Another alternative could be the edible nylabones...there's a peanut butter flavor/a strawberry flavor/chicken etc. Have you tried greenies/nylabone dental qwest? My pup never took to the plain nylabones either but loved the greenies and flavored bones.

Greenies are the only bone that I fed my dog at that age. Anything else was too much for his stomach.

You can make nylabones more appealing by soaking them in chicken broth. It all depends on the dog. Pig ears are great as long as the dog chews them and doesn't rip off large chunks. Greens or dentabones are also good. Raw carrots are great if your dog is so inclined.
