vomit after long walks

we recently started taking extended walks in the morning. [about 1 1/2 miles]. Our *****n has vomited a yellowish bile after a few of these walks.
She doesn't have this problem after her shorter evening walks.

She seems to enjoy these outings, but I don't want to jeopradise her health.
Could these walks be too much for her, or just coincidental? Anybody else experience this sort of thing with a small dog?

I've heard of it in smaller breeds and it was nothing serious. You could try a light feeding before with a peptobismo pill to settle the stomach. During your walk - take a break and offer some water (and cookie) so the dog has something in the stomach.

Does she eat before the walks? I assume not, since she is vomitting stomach acids, and not food.

When my dog is really hungry, he vomits... And walking alot burns alot of energy. I would feed her before the walk.

How old is your dog? Try to provide water during the walks also.

Golden rule of thumb just incase because you haven't given great detail is...

You do not feed your dog for 1 hour before or 1/2 hour after exercise. It can cause dehydration.
Does your dog pull on the lead at all? Any grass in the vomit? Do you notice this at other times when your dog is outside?

Also especially important for "deep chested" breeds like the Weim, Boxers, etc. as they are very prone to bloat. (other dogs can experience this as well. Better to be safe than sorry)

For your Bi*chon, as long as you bring enough water with you on your walks -dehydration should not be an issue.

I would mention the condition to your vet as it could be the sign of another illness. Just as for humans, dogs should get a vet's approval before starting a strenous exercise program.
