Unhappy oh god.

hi...please help.

my dog is a beagle. he's 9 years old. he's been in our family ever since he was a little puppy only a couple months old. we had him ever since i could remember..when i was 5..

he USED to be overweight but now he has a good body. last year, he used to have seizures and we tested him for valley fever but nothing showed up. the vet just said seizures would show up once in a while..

he was hit a lot when he was younger because my sister kinda abused him?..she just hit him hard when he did something wrong..
i was too young to realize it was bad to hit a dog like that..so..yeah..

well, yesterday i accidently landed on the dog by stepping on him on his side. he let out a reallllyyy loud yelp and then he started acting really strange after that..

he used to be SOOOOOOO hyper and happy and wagging his tail all the time!
he did his tricks just fine and ALWAYS wanted human food and was all excited whenever we ate.

but now he's so slow..he looks like hes in pain..
if he doesnt see me touch him he gives out a louddd yelp..or twitches when i touch him.
he never wags his tail
and he doesnt even want to LOOK at human food...which is so odd to me.

i think it's a little emotional and physical?..emotional cause he used to get hit a lot and getting injured like that affected him..
and i think theres some physical pain too..but i dunno where it is..

yesterday he could barely move..so my dad gave him half an aspirin (the vet said that every once in a while we could give that to him if he looks like hes in a LOT of pain..or during a seizure and he looks like he might die)

i dunno whats wrong with him..is he gonna die?....can anyone help me?...please?..i dont want to lose him.

Definitly a trip to the vet. I really dont know what to say from here. What part of the body did you step on?

I agree with eXile. Unfortunately, a 9 year old dog is considered a senior and they can start to have more health issues that what can be easily diagnosed by just one trip to the vet. Go to the vet, with a list of you dog's behaviors and symptoms and see if there is anything he might be able to do to help out your pup. Otherwise, it just might be time.... Sorry.

Continue to let us know how he is doing, please.

There may just be something affecting him temporarily. Flu?

Was it really hard? You know it may not even be that thats affecting him. He may be sick and that accident is just a coincidence

You mention the vet - did you take him to the vet or just call the vet?

I would think if he has any broken ribs or internal damage, he would be having a hard time breathing. It would sound labored even wheezy. I agree that it's time for a general vet checkup for the other things you mention besides the little accident. I assume you've checked his stool and there is no black streaks or blood present. Is he taking water normally?

i dunno...i guess it might be something else..

cause i've landed on him quite a few times b4 and it didnt affect him like it's doing now

but..i dunno if we have the money to take him to the vet....

if it was like..the flu or a cold or seomthin, will it go away if we just fed him good food and water?..

At that age, i would recommend the vet. As they grow older, immune systems become weaker and can attack the body easier. If he does have something, its best you deal with it before it causes him some really difficult problems that may lead to death.
