Accumlates eye "gunk" pretty quickly.

I was out all day with Oscar yesterday at a buddies house. There were about 10 of us and Oscar didnt lay down for 5 seconds yesterday. Constant moving. Everyone was playing with him. Usually sleeps like 70 percent of the day. Since this morning hes been accumlating eye gunk VERY FAST. Ive removed it 6 times already today. Usually only have to do it once a day. Maybe even none. I dont know if being at my friends or lack of sleep he had yesterday is causing but IDK. Today i napped with him from 1 30 to 4. Had to catch up on sleep And when he woke up, his lower eye lid was loaded with it. What does this mean? Health issue?

I would see if it goes away.. maybe he was so busy playing that he wasn't blinking very often or got something in his eye and now his body is trying to fight it off with some tears (that accumulate to "gunk"). Give it some more time and see how it goes. Otherwise he could have conjunctivitis (like we get) and you might want to try calling the Vet. But give it a day or so first.

Dust or allergen may have been picked up around his eye area. I would take a clean washcloth (or paper towel), wet with cool water and wipe the area gently. Keep a close eye on it.

My dogs get more eye gunk depending on the time of the year, where they have been and what the weather is like. Windy=more eye boogers. Early spring when everything is pollinating=more eye booger. When I use to live in Massachusettes and go to the beach every day, that was eye boogers galore. Go to the marsh for a run= lotsa lotsa eye boogers. There are so many things that causes it. Depending on what you and your friends were doing, could have a great effect on his eyes. I wouldn't be too worried about it unless it lasted for a lot of days.

Was it a sad movie? Maybe it touched the sensitive side of Oscar!

Basements aren't usually the cleanest part of the house (I don't dust mine very often). See if it clears up in the next couple of days.

You saw Saw - my friend lent me that and then sent me a text saying "Sorry forgot to say don't watch the movie on your own - it's scary. PS, Don't let Poppy watch it either" - he cracks me up. I and Poppy watched it together... LOL

Accumlates eye "gunk" pretty quickly

The vet said that my collie had a allgery and perscribed an over the counter
drug ,we decide not to give it to her instead .i decided to change her dog food
even though the other vet said i should stick to what i was giving to her at the
time. The eye gunk had lessen, body odor gone, hair not as shinny though, the
other dogs were the same, niece coat. And i decided to give to her a vitaminE
and it seemed to help a little. Then i gave to her Burdock liquid extract about
three days in a row and the eye gunk has disappeared so far. Burdock removes toxins from the body.
My husband gets headaches from eating cholocate but i ate a little bit more than usual and i spoke up the next day with a big bad headach e and about a hour later since it didn't get better, i took Burdock liquid extract and a little bit later it disappeared. It is amazing what mother nature can do. My husband a few years ago my husband had a bladder infection and what made him better was Buchu extract and it tastes bad.
Take Care!
