Thanks all....here is what I have done

They are German Sheppard females.......8 months old........

They go to the Vet regularly.......says they are healthy......gaining weight as they should...gives me a weight slide scale on paper.

Feed them Science Diet, have given them Deter and For-bid which is only to stop them from eating poop....I called 3 other vets and that is how I got those 2 brands.

I have given them two different vitamins, in case they are lacking something in there system.

I am now giving them Enzymes & Probiotics from Pet Smart made by Natur Vet.........it has slowed them down........but has not stopped them completely...BUT........it has calmed them down from barking all night.

Welcome! As Fair said, we love pics on our forum!!

The only part of your plan you may want to think about is the Science Diet. I know almost every vet in the country tells their clients to feed it, but there's a lot better food for the money. Sometimes I wonder if graduating vets in college get some of their tuition paid by Science Diet.

A good website a lot of folks here rely on is dogfoodanalysis.com

All the foods are independently tested and ranked from 1 star (lowest) to 6 stars (highest). One star foods typically have a lot of junky filler in them and unidentified meats or byproducts. Many are loaded with allergens.

Check it out sometime. I'd look for the best you can afford with no rating less than 3 or 4. If you have any questions, we can help you.

The probiotics and digestive enzymes are a good add to the program. Sounds like you're doing a great job!

Hi and welcome to the forum!! I am like DTD Science diet isn't all that great of a food. There is a lot better food out there for your dog.
I would love to see pics also.

I thought I'd add to this and give you the reason that people do not like Science Diet or any commercial food for that matter... they use a ton of fillers.

Here are the ingredients from Science Diet Original Puppy:
Ingredients
Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Soybean Meal, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Dried Beet Pulp, Chicken Liver Flavor, Dicalcium Phosphate, Brewers Rice, Fish Oil, Flaxseed, Soybean Oil, Iodized Salt, Choline Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, vitamins (L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement), minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid, Beta-Carotene, Rosemary Extract.

Top Ingredient: Corn... ever hear the saying 'corn in, corn out'? It's just a filler and there is really no nutritional value to corn.

2nd Ingredient: Animal by-product... what is a by-product? Usually it's the parts and pieces that cannot be used for anything else, necks, beaks, feet, etc.

I would recommend at least a corn-free food, preferable a grain free food would be ideal. Sounds like you're on the right track. We'd love to see pictures

agreed I dont care for science diet at all. For the barking all night I suggest more work during the day this is a breed that must be kept stimulated and busy.

I also agree. I had mine on Science Diet for a while. 2 of my boys were getting crazy ear infections that wouldn't go away and my female started getting these scabs on her ears. Someone on this forum suggested it might be a food allergy. I took them off it and haven't had any problems since.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I am fairly new here, but I have been 'converted' as well. Depending on the vet, I have always been told to feed Science Diet, Eukanuba, Iams, my current vet who I really like suggests Purina Pro Plan.

I never knew corn was not good, difficult to digest. I do know that one of my Dachshunds and my shepherd mix occassionally had upset stomachs and their coats were not as shiny as I thought they should be.

I have decided on switching to Canidae. Just bought my first bag Saturday.
