Question Sick dog?

My dog just got back from PetSmart two days ago and has been acting really depressed. Usually she wags her tail and is happy to see us, but latley she has not been doing that. And today she has peed on the carpet twice. If you know what might be wrong please let me know. We also got a cat about a month ago, but they havent seemed to have a problem....
Thanks in advance

Welcome! What do you mean "got back from Petsmart"? Was she staying there? Is she eating/drinking ok? How are her stools? I need more info as it could be hundreds of things, or nothing.

Did she have her Bordetella vaccine? My first guess would be some sort of canine flu or kennel cough.

Call PetsMart and see if they have any illnessess currently.

Is your dog up on all vaccines? It is probably NOT this, but when you said your dog was depressed and was no longer acting happy to see you, it made me think of Parvo. I am sure there are tons of other reasons why dogs behave this way, but it just reminded me of my mixed breed dog Quincy that I had when I was about 18. My family never vaccinated our family dogs and therefore I did not even know what Parvo was. He survived, but it was very costly and very touch and go for a week or 2.

"Making over the cat" means have you been paying more attention to the cat than the dog?

"Stools" are the bowel movements....aka Poop.

Oh yea.. our daycare/grooming/boarding facility would have kennel cough outbreaks. PetsMart would and should know when people are calling and saying, "BTW -- my dog got sick after leaving your place of business".

Clients are happy to express themselves when they are disgruntled.

And I know for a fact that the PetsMart in this area only require an up to date Rabies vaccine to be groomed. If a dog sits in the area, in a kennel for long enough and around another coughing/sneezing animal. They can contract the virus very easily. Especially depending on cleaning techniques.

Some kennel cough dogs will not exhibit coughing or sneezing at first. But they will seem lethargic, anorexic, and the like.

Also could be something totally unrelated and coincidental. But, my first thought would be to call and see if they know of any contagious viruses going around.
