I saw it, but didn't think it was all that great IMO.
First they interviewed a vet against over vaccinating because he's seen a lot of cases of over reaction to them, then they interviewed your basic "just do em every year" vet. And thats all it pretty much was. I feel they could have do a MUCH better job if they would have gotten down to the heart of it all "Why your dog needs them." Like Rabies, it is fatal and can be transmitted to humans. And of coarse Parvo, that is extremely costly to treat and you may end up loosing the dog in the end anyway. I do understand the entire point was "are we over vaccinating" and I do agree a lot that we are, but it is for me just as important to know WHY we are even doing them.

It sounds a lot to me like the way people were talking a few years ago about vaccinations for childhood diseases - 'we have it licked so we don't need it anymore.' Seems to me there is a golden path somewhere in the middle between overvaccinating and not vaccinating but I'm not sure where it is.

I managed to get the video to run, but couldn't get the sound. Just wondering if they mentioned titers testing at all? That's the meet-in-the-middle solution many are using until something better comes along.

I agree with Deb on the titers. Riddle is titered every year, and if results show she needs a vaccination, she gets one. If not, we go along without. This way I know she is protected, but she's not getting pumped full of vaccines.
