Yorkie tied all day to a tree
I have noticed that a household in our neighborhood (we don't know them - they live two streets over), have a very small Yorkie tied to a tree in their front yard from very early in the morning to late at night. I'm investigating (snooping) to see if its ever left out all night.
I just can't stand to see it tied up like that every day. It does appear to have a water dish out there (don't know if it's filled) so they're probably not doing anything illegal. Is there anything I can do? It's soon going to get very hot here!! Summers are brutal here. The woman who lives there sits on the front porch most of the day on the phone, smoking cigarettes and then throws the butts in the front yard. I walked by there and it looked like the dog was sitting in snow.

Hummmmmmmmm.. she must go inside once in a while for a potty break. Wouldn't it be an freak of nature if that little dog suddenly got loose just then and you developed short term amnesia and couldn't remember where you found the poor thing??
I don't like seeing large, long furry dogs tied out let alone a small companion dog! ![]() They probably never potty trained it so it's life attached to a tree ;( Last edited by FairyDogMother; 05-16-2008 at 11:54 PM. |

OMG that's horrid
. I'm with our FairyDogMother would be a shame if the little one came up missing That's why one part of my contract says dog can not be on a tie out (except for camping, visiting park for the day, beach or like recreational short time period only.)

I knew a lady one time who tied her dog out front to a shrub. She went with her husband for a day trip to the mountains. When they came back, the dog had gotten itself wrapped around the shrub and choked to death! I still get mad when I think about it. ![]() Deb, I hope there is something you can do. Other than stealing the dog, talking with the owner to try to educate her or checking to see if there are any laws or city ordinances against this, I don't know what you could do. Does the dog have any shelter? |

A yorkie tied up while she sits on the porch smoking She was too d** lazy to potty train and I wish you or someone would steal her and send her to me. Of course I am only allowed one dog here but.....Deb, call Rescue and see what their advise would be. These dogs at most weigh 7 lbs and most cannot take severe heat or cold. Wouldn't you just love to give people like that a kick in the pants!!

Does the dog have shelter ? Most places have laws that state a dog must have shelter and water.
I do not get why people bother to get a dog if they are going to neglect it by tying it to a tree or post or whatever all day and night. It just blows my mind..... I would say call the spca and see if they will do anything or ....( shh never heard this from me ) sneak over there and steal the dog.

Both places will probably tell you there is nothing you can do so
steal the yorkie Deb you may go to jail for awhile and we'll send you care packages but in the end, you will go to heaven.
