Exclamation Skin Problems, don't know what to do

Hi there,

I'm new at this forum and i'm from Portugal (so i appolozige some of the mistakes that may occur).
I'm really worried about my little dog: a few time ago she started to had an awful smell, a strong doggy smell, no matter how many times a tried to bath her. Suddendly some kind of injury strated to show up becoming in huge crusts all over her boddy.

Any idea what this could be? My vet won't tell me too much.

Thank you.

Does she have fleas or ticks? Very worst thing is it could be mange (it happens when a dog's immune system becomes weakened). Your vet would have told you to quarantine her from other dogs, get rid of all bedding and start a course of antibotics.

Other things I can think of are hot spots, allergies, even a bacterial skin infection.

Did the vet give you any creams, or antibotics? I think you should get the vet to give you more information - don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. It will help you treat the dog at home.

I took her to the vet again. It was mange, like you said, but in three weeks she'll be a lot better.

Thank you for the tip!

I'm sorry for her. Mange is nasty. Give her a big hug for me. I hope she starts feeling better real soon.

I never had any experience with mange, so I am not too familiar with it. From the sound of it, it is not pleasant. I hope she recuperates well and in 3 weeks she will be back to normal.
