Which Kennel Club's the Best

What is the best Kennel Club or does it matter?. Can you sell for the same price either way? I just started breeding Boston Terriers and I have 1 Registered with Universal Kennel Club International, 1 with United Kennel Club and 2 with American Kennel Club. What should I do?

well with akc both parents have to be reg akc im not to sure how ukc does there reg go to there sire UKC.com

yes all my dogs are AKC and thats the thing AKC will not reconize a litter that both parentsarnt reg with so check UKC and see what they have to say about it

Things To Do Before You Breed A Litter.

Carefully read the U.K.C. Breeder's Code Of Ethics, and U.K.C. Kennel Requirements for Breeders. U.K.C. expects breeders to adhere to these guidelines.

Make sure both parents are permanently registered with U.K.C. If not, the litter cannot be registered.

Make sure that the person who claims to own the sire is actually the dog's registered owner. If not, there will be problems in registering the litter.

Make sure the proposed sire and dam are the same breed. If not, the litter cannot be registered.

Review the pedigree. A responsible breeder will be familiar with the qualities of the ancestors of his dog. If the sire and dam share common ancestors, the traits of those ancestors in common are more likely to be displayed in the offspring of that sire and dam. Breeders who plan to line breed or inbreed must seriously consider the traits, good and bad, that will be passed on to the puppies.

Certain national breed associations have asked U.K.C. for additional requirements for litters of their specific breeds. One association, for example, requires that the sire and dam must have a certain level of hip clearance before their offspring can be registered. If your breed has a national association, you should contact them about any special requirements for U.K.C. litter registration.

If the sire of a litter is under 7 months of age or over 14 years of age on the date of breeding, U.K.C. may require that the sire, the dam, and one puppy from the litter be DNA profiled through U.K.C. and the parentage verified before registering the litter.

If the dam of a litter is under 8 months of age or over 10 years of age on the date of breeding, U.K.C. may require that the sire, the dam, and one puppy from the litter be DNA profiled through U.K.C. and the parentage verified before registering the litter.

If you intend to use frozen semen, check the date the semen was collected and frozen. IF THE SEMEN WAS COLLECTED AND FROZEN AFTER JANUARY 1, 1997, THE SIRE MUST BE DNA PROFILED THROUGH U.K.C. OR THE LITTER CANNOT BE REGISTERED.

Dual-Sired Litter. U.K.C. has a special form and application procedure for registering a litter when a bitch has been bred, intentionally or accidentally, to two sires. Instructions for registering a dual-sired litter can be found on page 19 in the section on DNA.

Mating The Dogs. U.K.C. recommends that females not be bred until they are physically and mentally mature (See guidelines in paragraph 1g) and h) above concerning age of dogs to be bred). This normally occurs by the second or third heat. Both the sire and dam should be in excellent physical condition with their inoculations up to date. Ideally, both the owner of the sire and the owner of the dam should witness the breeding. The female should be kept isolated from all males except the sire of her litter throughout her entire heat cycle.
