My dog ate a popsicle stick!

My 100 pound lab ate a popsicle stick. I gave it to her thinking she would just lick it and she ate it whole!

This happened about 28 hours ago. She seems fine. I gave her some olive oil (to lube her up) and 2 bowls of bran cereal.

any other ideas or similar stories and the outcome??

It may or may not digest or partially digest.

Has she pooped since then? I know dogs who eats sticks all the time, and nothing bad ever happens to them.

I think it will probably be fine.

Signs of a GI obstruction: vomiting, diarrhea, lack of defecation, anorexia (not wanting to eat or drink), lethargy

If these signs come up.. bring to vet and get some x-rays taken to evaluate the abdomen and see if there is an obstruction or where.

i think she did once but it was not the lucky poop.

she eats stuff she should'nt all the time...shes a typical lab but she is just getting over a pulled muscle in her neck and i am just more freaked out lately.

i think she will be fine, she has eaten whole chicken bones before and nothing happened. i have just doing searches on the web and some things i have read from individuals say rush them to the vet!

my vet bill last week was 500.00 so I am trying to avoid that if possible!!!

I wouldn't be expecting the "lucky poop" as much as I would just be making sure things are still moving. If it digests it wouldn't be visible anyway.
I would be watching poops like a hawk and palpating from time to time to make sure she isn't tender.

I think that she will be fine. My wolf/pups will eat anything you leave down in there way. So i always try not to leave anything that they might want to eat down for them to get a hold of.
