shedding short haired dogs

What kind of brushed would you all recommend using on dogs with short hair, mostly boxers,labs, or dalmations. I have a dalmation that comes in to be groomed that sheds horribly! I thought about using a pin brush but she acts like that really hurts. Than I found a rubber horse brush that works really well, but I was wondering if you guys have any other ideas?

I would go to your nearest pet shop andask them. I also wondered what your prices were!(just curious!)

Get a shedding blade if they moult badly. If they don't moult much just a normal soft bristled dog brush will do.
An alternative to a shedding blade is an equine grooming block (although you may not be able to get hold of one of these) used in cojunction with a small horses body brush.

Hey thanks for your advice! I can actually buy the equine shedding blocks at our hometown feed store, so I will definately try it! Thanks!
As for my prices, it totally depends on the breed of dog, the condition his coat is in (how long it has been since he was last groomed) and how big the dog is. Prices can range anywhere from $20-$100.

For my rottweiler mix I got a brush that had bristles on one side, and pins on the other. It was very inexpensive and you can find one at almost any pet supply store. I'm not sure how much it helps shedding, but it may save you money by having both of those brushes built into one.
