Dog eats everything and has an attitude problem

I have a 5 1/2 month old Chocolate Lab, Huskie, and Chow mixed dog that eats EVERYTHING in my home. He seems to like wires (power cords, speaker wires, computer wires, etc.) a lot. We try to give him his rawhide bone, or another toy to chew on but that doesn't help. He also has a major attitude problem. We know that the Chow part of him has the attitude, but we can't control it. He gets very hipper very fast, where he just runs around the house till we put him in his room for a time-out, and will not learn to stop biting. He hates authority, but will learn tricks very fast. If anyone can give me advice that would be great. I don't want to lose my dog, but my boyfriend said that he will get rid of the dog if he doesn't calm down.

at 5.5 months old, he's just being a typical pup. Chewing on things he shouldn't be chewing on are pretty much inevitable with pups.

As for the attitude problem, does he know that you're alpha? The husky and chow in him can make him a bit more stubborn than other dogs so, making it clear that you're leader will help alot. After I established that I was alpha over my second sheltie, things got alot smoother from there.

If you don't crate him when you're gone, start now. Also - keep him on a leash when you are around. That way - you'll always know what he's in to.

You've got to establish dominance over your dog now, before he gets older and bigger and can really push you around. Start with some basic obedience training. Also - don't let him up on furniture, or on the bed with you. Another no no is when your dog sits on you, or leans up against you. He's showing you he's the boss.

Just remember - he's a baby. With proper training and a little time - I'm sure he'll break his bad habits. Just hang in there!

Also - I have a husky. They're not stubborn - just very smart. They will figure out a way to get out of doing everything.

*If you really love this dog - work with the dog - and put your foot down with your boyfriend. Let him know you don't want to get rid of the dog until you've tried everything you possibly can. (I know how it goes - I was in the same situation a year ago!)
