Excessive Drooling

This evening our boxer started drooling excessively. This dog is not a drooler, and it was coming out like a leaky tap - drip, drip, drip. He soaked his chair actually before I noticed it. This has happend about 3 times in the 1.5yrs we've owned him. He didn't get into anything that I can see, he was out in the yard most of the day while we were out, then we took him with us and let him wait for us in the van when we went out do run errands this evening. Could it have been due to bad nerves?

Stress can cause an increase in drooling. I'm envious. My rotti has a tap built in. She soaks everything. You should see her when she expecting a treat. It's Niagra falls.

Ollie drools whenever he is nervous. Or drugged, ha ha. But in the car he makes a large puddle (usually in my lap, that makes me look like i ****** myself). Or when I bring him somewhere new with lots of people.. he'll be dripping. Drooling is also a sign of pain, when he broke his leg he drooled LOTS. Which is directly connected to fear again, afraid of being in pain or hurt again. Have you noticed when your dog is drooling any stressful activity?

I'm sure he was stressed from being on his own all day. He's rarely alone, I'm a stay home mom.

That is just like Koni - at least I know it's normal now.
