sour smell from puppy's anus

There is a sour smell coming from my 4 month old Pit Bull puppy's anus. I've never taken a close look at it before but after noticing the smell, she was licking it and I took a close look and it looked like there was a little bit of white discharge. Does anyone know what this could be or if it is serious? **** sac's?

my guess is the a n a l gland is full. alot of times the dog will take care of it themselves. A vet can also do the honors for you.

I figured it was that, I just didn't know how early a dog could get full sacs. She is 4 months. Thanks for the reply!

Not too sure of the age. I would guess Clifford(my dog) had it at about 6 months.

I'll try to look up the answer on the web. I've never smelt that before, I've had dogs as a kid and scene the glands squeezed (nastiness), but man the smell, yikes. Thanks again.
