I’m having a few problems with Archie, a 5 month old English Bull Terrier. He is generally a good and well tempered dog, but when let into the living room he goes CRAZY. He runs around, jumps on the sofas and worse of all bites really hard. Once put back in the kitchen he sits on his blanket like a little angel! We have tried putting his crate (which he loves) and blankets in the living room, but he just ignores them. We’ve tried playing with him, but he would rather bite your hand than his chew toy.
Is this just a 'puppy thing' that will go with time or has anyone got any ideas how to calm him down, as he is spending more time in the kitchen than with us in the frontroom.

Try keeping him on a leash when he's in the living room. Make sure you tell him no when he starts biting.

It probably is just a puppy thing - but make sure he gets plenty of exercise. Maybe try going for a walk, then have some down time in the kitchen - then try the living room. Hopefully he'll be to pooped out to run around like a mad dog!

My dogs still go crazy when they are let in the house.

Mickey can be quiet when I say to to be. But Molly, she's crazy. So I keep a tin can filled with about 15 metal washers. I shake this at her when she's being too energetic. I also shake the can when she chases the cat or other undesirable behavior.

Try the can.

Also Molly likes to bite. It is a puppy thing but try to break your dog of the habit fast.

Scolding her might work, a quick jab to the under jaw worked for my dog Mickey.

There are other posts on this forum about biting, read on.
