Poppy Update

Well, you know I said Poppy was off her food, she didn't eat a single thing on Wednesday. When I got up on Thursday she had a small amount so I cancelled the vet appointment. She still wasn't eating properly when we went to Skegness on the Friday, and still looked sorry for herself so I started to beat myself up about not taking her to the vets. But I'd looked up a vets in Skegness so that we could take her there if she did get worse.

Well, by Saturday she was fine, she was back eating normally again. Then Sunday, she was sick, in the street, a great big pile of it.... and I could see stuff that I hadn't given her. Well it turned out his auntie had all this cooked meat that she didn't want to go to waste so when I wasn't looking (ie out for a walk, down at the supermarket, having an afternoon nap) she was giving her all this cooked meat. Umph, families!!

So, Poppy is practically back to normal and is doing fine. Thanks you guys.

I am glad she is better! I know my sister use to give our dogs(mostly mine) table food when we would say dont! Now she has stopped and our dogs are good weight now! It is very annoying when people do that though! River is not allowed to beg or have people food except I share my popcicle with her!

Aw that's great about Poppy. Poor thing. My family is bad about giving table s*****, but nothing compared to some that I've seen. But they are given small amounts at a time, not a whole steak lol...not even if you added up everything they got. Poppy's tummy was just upset. Glad everything's good again!

I'm glad she's better. Poor girl - it does bring all new meaning to killing with kindness.

So glad to hear Poppy's all better! Hubby's Mom always tries to give Harley and Scooter people food.. She doesn't mean any harm, she just doesn't understand. She knows we don't allow it so.. there ya go. LOL

I think the problem is his auntie has to feed Whisky (her dog) on this meat and cooked rice on the advice of the vet. I guess she just thought that it was OK to give Poppy bits here and there but it all adds up... still she's back on track now and we had a good time while we were there!

So glad poppy is feeling better!! We do give our dogs on rare occasion a table scrap or 2. Mostly bones from like hams and the like. I would never give someone else's dog s*****. You never know what kind of allergies they may have! Oh well what can ya do it was well intended even if it caused more problems that it was worth!
