It looks brownish as opposed to a glaring white that I would expect
No vestige of a beginning, no hint at an end

Pretty cool little guy. I had to look some info up on them. This site says ( http://www.plymouth.gov.uk/fieldgrasshopper ) specimens that are almost entirely white, purple, orange, and yellow do occur from time to time.
Must of been nature that messed up on us

I used to catch spiders and 2 inch long bees so its no issue to me. I catch worms if I feel like it. I am not a girly girl.

the thing that made me think that it wasn't was the stripes on its legs. it is a grey ash color. I just let him go.

Do grasshoppers molt? If so, it could be shedding its shell.
