Uh Oh Lady....

Lady was fine when I came home, took her Benedryl like normal, went outside in the back yard, rolled in stinky spot...went over to leaves...did her business..then she came in....and then at 5pm went to do food bowls..no Lady urging me on...put down food bowls in order...Lady walked over and just sniffed...picked up one piece and dropped. Went back to lay down, I picked up food bowl so Emmy wouldn't eat it(it was pill night) and took Lady out thinking she might have to poop. Nothing but pacing...she immediately heads back to bed when we go in...5 minutes later she's thrown up foamy phlegm, within 10 minutes after that half of breakfast, another 5 minutes more foamy throwup...then spontaneous pooping with no control...well off to the Emergency Vets(Oh, I did manage to get some Nutristat in her plus 2 cc's pedialyte)by this time she was just drooling...luckily it's only five minutes away, unluckily it doesn't open until 6 pm which was in another ten minutes...(I know, vets offices close at five and emergency vet office doesn't open until six, geeze someone not thinking) They checked her in...checked her over...gave me the estimate to sign...and blood tests and two shots later...she wags her tail(well about 10 minutes into waiting for CBC results) so she was feeling better.

All the test came back normal..so near as everyone can figure she ate something in that leaf pile that caused it. Hubby said no back yard until the weekend when he does a walk down...glad we have a front fence too.. It was a very scary situation and even though they told us no fluids for 24 hours(basically start small sips of water only at 5pm) we started at noon and she was fine all afternoon, (because of her age, I didn't think it would be good on the kidneys)....we kept her separated all night until 7pm tonight and hubby took her to work to watch her and start the fluids. She's peed fine after the water intake and no problems with it either...she was howling at five when I was fixing food bowls per normal from her playpen...so I gave her a small amount of dried slightly crushed(she still implying it's not enough, but that's all she's getting..) She has been fine on that too hence the 7pm release. She's haunting the kitchen whenever she hears me coming toward it...

Hubby's thinking dead frog or toad in the leaves...

Sorry for the long version...

Glad she's alright, no more toad pickings for her though.

Thanks y'all, she's back to "normal" still waiting for poop though, I'm hoping that'll be soon but since her whole system got "cleaned" out who knows...

Hubby will be "toad" hunting this weekend...or whatever is in the back yard that she licked, ate, or whatever...

I'm so glad she's doing better. Hoping that she'll poop soon.

If she did eat a toad...could she tell you if it tasted like chicken??
