Dane in need please read

Hey everyone Amy here I know that it has been a long time but I just got my new computer. Beau, Nathan and I are doing great and Beau is just getting his third and forth teeth. But I really need your guys help with this poor dane puppy who is only 8 weeks. I got this email from the dane rescue and they said that it was ok to cross post so please open your hearts.

Our rescue agreed to take this pretty little Dane pup from another rescue who took her in the story was that a girl got her from a friend and "I believe she has a broken leg"!!! so she surrendered her to West Hancock Canine Rescue in IL.. She is only 8 weeks old, already 20 pound and is emaciated, was full of fleas and her back right leg is broken in 3 places..to complicate matters, she is dragging her "good" leg. It is believed she has some nerve damage in her lower back, could be caused from all the swelling. They have been on the phone with Columbia Missouri's vet college and their outstanding team of orthopedic specialist. They want to operate on her on Thursday morning July 24/08. They can not just amputate her badly broken leg because she needs it to help rehab her "good" leg. She will stay at the hospital for min of 3 weeks for rehab after surgery. Her estimate with out seeing her just the emailed xrays pictures, is $1,600-$2,100, we are seeking help with this expense. If you can help at all please forward funds to our paypal account at danelair@comcast.net or mail them to P.O. Box 5543 Plymouth MI 48170 All donations are tax deductable through 501c3 so please include your mailing address with your donation. Thank you all so much!! She will be very grateful for your help in saving her!!

Permission to cross post is given

I really hope that you guys pass this message or help to donate some money or just put her in your prayers. Amy

PS: Chevy and Nomad are doing great and I am happy to announce that Nomad is finally over 110.

That poor poor baby! I hope she gets all the care she needs if she can live a good quality of life for the rest of it! So innocent and so sad. would love to see her happy, healthy and playing like she should be right now rather than suffering so.

What a beautiful little babydoll! It's a shame that she's in such bad shape and if it's animal neglect, I hope they get those heathens.

BHRR is on a distinguished road
Update as of August 1st, 2008:
*This is just a little summary of a detailed post one of their Volunteers made today.

Katie is now in a foster home. The Vets were unable to save the broken leg and it was amputated. The remaining hind leg has nerve damage and currently is knuckling over. She also now needs to have an eye removed.

With the overwhelming support shown, her surgery and vet stay have been paid off and there is some extra left over for rehab.

There are also four fundraisers planned in her honour and updates can be found on their website. www.greatdanerescueinc.com
