Grr - what's going on here
Arrrrrgggghhhhh
What's going on here - yesterday Loki's sensitive stomach acted up big time, I came home to 10 piles of 'yuck' (some from each end) Now Denali has a hot spot. When is it going to stop?!?!? Loki seems fine today, and I've started putting stuff on Denali's hot spot. Just wanted to complain a bit. |

Digs what are you feeding Denali? I only ask because Hudson has a VERY sensitive tummy and I have to be very very careful what goes into his mouth. The food I am feeding him is WONDERFUL!!! He never gets a upset tummy anymore....unless someone slips him food that he shouldnt have....or if he eats a sock
![]() I hope they all start feeling better soon....and you too. |

Poor you have you tried giving them one pepsid once a day. Sometimes the acid in their stomachs is higher on somedays and will make the dogs sick. My vet has everyone give their adult dogs a pepsid everyday.

Yea.. welcome to my world. Louise has IBD and Addisons. Both have GI signs when they aren't being managed enough.. so plenty of vomit and diarrhea days!
No hot spots on any of the dogs though.. thank goodness.

There have been several reported problems concerning the use of beet pulp in animal foods, including potential swelling in the stomach, palatability, and plugging of the intestinal villus. Foods with a high Beet Pulp content are providing a large volume of nutritionless fiber. Beet Pulp DOES act as a Pre-Biotic when added to foods in a very SMALL quantity, but it should be WAAAAY down in the ingredients list...not # 5, 6 or 7. Many of the other foods (i.e.. Purina, the feed store brands like Blue Seal etc) use Plant based proteins, which may not be sufficient for many dogs needs. IMHO it's too far up in the food list, I imagine if the meat products weren't broken down it would be even higher, just my opinion of course. Not my fav source of "bulk"/fiberous food choice. |

Loki seems fine now. It's really hard to say what got to him. Before when he was having food issues he'd through up undigested food 4-5 hrs later. He hasn't thrown up or had the runs since sometime before 4:30p Monday. We're in the middle of a bag of food, so it's not like I just opened it. It has been hotter outside than it's been and not really cooling down all that much at night. There's just so many other factors for Loki that it could have been.
