Buck ate a dead bird...

i get home a little while ago, and am immediately greeted by my brother who tells me "Buck ate a dead bird"
"... Well is he okay???"
"Yeah, he threw up twice"

I get inside to be greeted by the dogs, both acting perfectly normal except for the fact that Buck's breath reeks of death and barf. Then I see the two piles that he is talking about (which he didn't bother to clean up ) so I let them out to potty while I clean up
Look out the window to see Buck eating something, run out, and thankfully he's not eating a bird. Just another pile of throw up! This one is mostly thrown up kibble, which makes me think that he ate it sometime this morning
Other than the smell and vomit eating he seems to be doing perfectly fine. What should I do, I don't want him to get really sick

And Rusty's fine. He doesn't usually eat something he finds unless it's a lizard he catches

Mine have eaten them and kept them down with no ill effects
I wouldn't worry, especially as he has thrown it up.
To be on the super safe side watch and make sure he is pooping for a day or two- don't want anything stuck. And parasites are always a worry, but if you have a fecal done once a year you're covered.

He's eaten dead stuff before, but then it's usually stuff that he caught himself and killed. He apparently found this one already dead and that's the part that concerns me.
He seems to be alright now, I got everything cleaned up and brushed his teeth, so his breath smells a little less bad
I will watch him for a few days to make sure everything's coming out alright

I always have charcoal capsules on hand for stuff like this. And it happens here all the time. Charcoal absorbs toxins, but don't give it with other meds as it will absorb them, too!

Well my will catch birds and eat then. And they did ok. I try to make sure that they pass thr them tho.

I try to tell them that they don't need to catch thoses litle birds. But i guess that it must be some dogs nature to do that.

Thank goodness the birds are too fast for my dogs. Apart from the bad breath, I think he should be ok.
