crystals and stones

I took my minio dachshund in for her checkup. The vet found she had stones but I am not sure where they were located.
A few years ago she had crystals.
Because of where they were located her vet will not do surgery. She put her on Royal Canine Urniary S/O.
I know very little a bout this subject. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice. My dog is 14 years old but in very good health other then the stones.

pinklockx3 is on a distinguished road
my dog has a very serious type of stones, if the stones do shift and start blocking his bladderi would reccomend that you ask your vet about removing the stones, sending them to a lab to find out what kind they are, and getting your dog on a preventitive food, my dog is currently on HILLS
