Question stains

I have a 7 week old chihuaha mix. Stinkerbell weighs 2 lbs and 4 oz a very small dog. I've had her for her first shots and worming. Over the last week these yellowish orange stains have been showing up on my tile and carpet. The first appearance was while my dog had been in her kennel and I had been asleep. When I first noticed it I thought my 14 yr old son had something on his feet and didn't want to get in trouble for staining up my new carpet.

Today Stinkerbell had got a hold of a block of rat poisoning. I called her vets office and they were closing. She didn't swallow much before I caught her. The nurse told me to give her 1/2 tsp of peroxide every few min to enduse vomiting. This worked immediatly she threw up everything in her stomach. And was storming around like her normal self.

My husband took her out to potty he told me she pottied so I could praise her since we are still in the training stage. Sitting in front of me I noticed a yellowish orange color to her vulva that matched the stains on the floor.

I grabbed a baby wipe and got it all off. I have done this twice now after she has come back in. With her vet being closed and gas prices I would hate to take her 2 hours away to the 24 hour clinic and pay a huge bill if this is something normal. With the poison scare already I don't want to think that she has had something wrong with her all along. Any advice would be apreciated.

I could be missing something, but it just sounds like pee to me.

As far as training goes, you want to praise her the moment that she is peeing, not 2 seconds later, or after she comes back in. By then, the moment is gone, and the dog is being prasied for the association of following, or coming in the house, or sitting...

Moo...very concentrated pee at that...

Stinker's Mom..pics are cute..and according to weigh "guessing" charts she'll top out over six pounds. She'll do 99 percent of her growing before the age of six months, with filling out up to a year to a year and a half.

It also sounds like she needs more water intake, In my humble opinion of course, because of the orange coloration(which is my take on very concentrated pee-remember I'm not a Vet or a Vet tech..just a experienced chihuahua mom..) so I can be over-ruled easily not knowing your furbaby personally.

I praise her while she is outside but when one or the other of us isn't the one outside we just praise her when she comes back in. She gets a lot of water. I have previously owned a chihuahua and learned from experience that they seem to drink more then eat or at least mine did. To look at her urine its almost clear so I can't figure out whats going on. It hasn't happened today nor any after I posted yesterday. Its odd but she has a vet appt tomorrow afternoon either way. Thanksgiving last year I had to put my dog of 15 years down from cancer. That was the hardest thing I had to do and I will not be taking any chances with Stinkerbell. Thank you for your advice though

Good on the vet appointment, never hurts to get things checked out...mine range from 2.5lbs to 6 lbs..all fully grown...and a couple are slow eaters...(one's the 2.5lber, so I keep a close watch on her.. can't have her off food for long). The six pounder had an emergency vet visit about a week and half ago...all test were normal..near as we can figure she ate something outside and blew her system all to heck in time period of less then an hour..she was fine the next day....two shots, bloodwork and no food/water(which we had to slowly reintroduce) later...things with chihuahuas can get hairy scary fast, can't they...

All blood work came back clean so the spots showing up aren't comming from stinkerbell. Thank goodness. I was having trouble with jealousy when our grandbaby comes to stay with us and am thankful out of no where she has over came it. She has to lay next to him when he's on the floor doing tummy time and heaven for bid you go near him she goes bonkers. I'm glad she's proving my husband wrong on his theory that chih's are tempermental and unstable. He thought we would have trouble with her biting the baby. Nice to see its not him she's biting its whomever goes near him when she doesn't want them too lol.
