belly bumps???

Hi we just got a 8 wk old lab yesterday who was infested with fleas. !!!
horrible, other than that she was in good condition. She is a pure bread and we are a little concerned about her health... we called the vet and they said to wash her in "blue dawn" to get the fleas off of her.. and then to bring her in on Monday when they are open.

most of the fleas were killed when we washed her yesterday.. except today she has all kinds of little sore puss filled bumps on her tummy??? any ideas as to what this can be?> I will be taking her to the vet in the morning..

just wanted to check if anyone had any ideas... thanks

sounds like a skin rash, maybe even the start of a staph infection, did you get her from someone who breeds? She may also have Pyoderm which is a bacterial infection of the skin that is common to dogs and uncommon in cats. Symptom is a skin rash that may appear as small bumps, pus filled pimples, or blood filled blisters. The disease may be caused by parasites, allergies, or homonal disorders.

You might want to bath her in something milder:

2 cups water

2 teaspoons liquid castile soap

2 tablespoons aloe vera gel

Up to 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin or vegetable oil

Combine the ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Shake to blend. This recipe is especially good for soothing skin irritations.

Myself, I use Diatomaceous Earth (Food grade NOT pool grade which is poison) for insect control, both internal and external. It's not a chemical so pests can not build an immunity nor can an animal be overdosed, build up reaction, etc.
