wonderful bull dog with painful feet!

Bouregard is 6 plus years old with lots of allergies and has soft red lumps between his front toes for some time. i have used panolog in the past and it has worked but now that he is older it doesn't seem to work. it is hard on him. we have to be careful when chosing where to go for walks. rocks or gravel really hurts. any ideas? vet wants to cut them out but i am not ready to go that route

Are they interdigital cysts?
If so they are very painful. A six year old dog has a lot of years left- I would certainly opt for the surgery.

Welcome!

My 1 1/2 year old lab gets them from being wet all of the time. I clean between his toes with witch hazel or alcohol. That seems to help them dry up and go away. If they get big I give him a course of anitbiotics and keep his feet clean and dry.

thanks for the alcohol idea! he walks on the beach atleast once a day! i will try an agressive course of this and if it doesn't work we will opt for surgery. it is not the expense of surgery that i care about,it is the 6 surgeries that he had before he was 4. i just don.t want to put him through it again if i don't have to! thanks again..... i am moving towards the medicine cabinet
