Dogs do have allergies, sneezing can also be a sign something is stuck in the nose (foxtail, dirt, etc.) Your vet can determine if anything is wrong.

You're talking about reverse sneezing? The repeat honking thing?
It is often a tracheal spasm- if you gently push their nose downwards (towards their chest) it will relax the trachea and it will stop.

Could be allergies as well. Best bet is to mention it to your veterinarian so they can rule out physiological issues then determine how to treat it, if at all. It is mostly just a brief annoyance.

Constant real sneezing, on the other hand, points to a foreign object or other irritation in the nasal passages and would IMO be much more serious.

I guess I don't know what you mean by "internal sneezing".
Video it for your vet.

Oooo! Thank you for posting that Cearbhaill! Jinjo does the reverse sneezing thing at one of the parks around here. I absolutely can't figure it out, its ONE area and he gets going so bad its scary that seems like he might not stop! He's done it now 2 years in a row the exact same spot, and I'm not sure if its a general irritant or if the fact he is allergic to more than the average dog because I've yet to see any other dog doing it.
