Freckles is a wonderful, good dog. She has had obedience training from puppy to advanced. She is 2 1/2 yrs. old now. A border collie/red heeler mix (white with red freckles with the long hair and shape of a border..gets attention whereever she goes) Our only difficulty with her is her over exhuberance with people, especially those she loves. It is almost impossible for her to contain herself when they come around... it is pure love not aggressive. With me, the primary authority, she is perfect... sits calmly to be petted. You can tell she is trying...but, just cannot contain herself... hard to discipline unadulterated, unconditional love. Any suggestions.... treats and food are not primary to her. She is seldom alone and goes with us everywhere... so it is not for lack of attention from us (she has the prime spot on our bed)... Lou in Texas

Try putting her in a down-stay in another room when people come in. After about 5 minutes tell her to come, sit - and then let people pet her. This worked really well with my old dog. Once people were in the house for a couple of minutes - he calmed down a lot.
