Pugs with backward sneeze!!

does anyone know how to help a pug who has a backward sneeze..It is very uncomfortable for her and I thought a trainer on TV had a suggestion but I can't remember what it was..I thought it was rubbing under the chin but that doesn't seem to always work..thanks

Nothing always works, but often gently pressing the nose downwards towards the chest relaxes the tension on the trachea enough to stop it spasming.

This really does work! I tried this on my Beagle recently, the first time it did not stop it completely but lessened the spasm, the second time it stopped it completely

Thank you for the idea!!! I'll try it next time. I always put a little peanut butter on my finger and let him lick it off, it usually stops it right away. But your treatment is handy to know if I don't have a fingerful of peanut butter!
